Compressor mods

Has anyone ever added an hour meter on there compressor?
I was thinking about adding one so I can tell how many hours it has done to help with servicing intervals ect. Anyone got any ideas on how to do this?

Also what mods have you done to yours? Interesting to see what can be done to improve them.

Wire a 240v hourmeter into the motor supply or fit one that runs from vibration.

As Wallace says.

I broke into the lead between the pressure switch and the motor, fitted a junction box and wired an 240v hour meter into that. Make sure it's designed for 50Hz and not 60 or it will run slow.

Way OTT I reckon, it also requires 24DC for the backlight.

Mines simple electro-mechanical one.

I use one to judge when to add oil to my silent compressor, it was less risky than drilling a hole for a sightglass. The counter (240v) is just parallel wired with the compressor motor. It works great, i just add a set amount of oil every 40 hours and replace the lot once a year.
Could be a useful addition for a normal compressor, maintenance based on the run time is probably better for the compressor than going by the calender.

Got a cone style air filter on mine! Looks really bling, and some polished alu pulleys.

I went for polished stainless with a splash of red. The black compressor sets it off nicely
