Looking for some advice,
I am in the process of researching and planning how to run my air lines in a effective manner. My current set up is pitiful and caused me many problems in the past but as I now looking at doing things right and making the best of what I have. So while I was looking at doing something more permenant with copper piping and appropriate drop offs and drain points. Now i am thinking that if I am going to hard wire the air lines I should really move my compressors to a better location to give me more space and save me having to have ear protection on all the time. I have a loft above the garage and was thinking off putting then up there, the only problems being it will be quiter for me but certainly not for those around me. Also it gets warmer up there in the summer months and my poor lil compressors have a hard enough life at the moment so what would be a good way for me to keep them cool and reduce noise. I can put insulation in the roof rafters and cover with some plaster board, same with the external facing wall. The loft is already boarded out so i could also insulate the floor as well to stop the heat rising from the garage when the oven is on which will help reduce noise a lil bit and keep it a bit cooler. There are vents at one end to allow for some airflow as in all attics but i don't know it will provide enough airflow to keep the space cool enough for the compressors?
I will be putting 3 compressors up there, one belt driven 3hp 100ltr sealey, a oil less 2hp 50ltr direct drive wolf and another oil less 2hp 50ltr sealey direct drive with vertical tank and the loft is above a single car garage, the ones you can't fit a car in and not get out off!
Any other things I could do to get the noise down and keep the space cool or what route should I take? It's more to keep the noise from the neighbours and when the oil less sealey is on its real loud in the house. The house is detached.
