compressor not shutting off automatically

Hi all ... I'm new here =)
I have an SIP airmate hurricane compressor 215/25 that I lent to a friend.
Now, it doesn't shut off automatically = the pressure release valve (on top) pops up and lets off pressure and the engine keeps running ...
Any advice ??

Pressure switch broken, not set correctly or safety valve blowing off too early. Is there a pressure gauge on the tank? If so what pressure does it read when the safety valve blows?

if u need a new press switch they are around a 10'ner off ebay..........don't panic.......

Take the top cover off the pressure switch assembly and see of the control spring has fallen out causing it not to switch off.

Yep check the pressure switch a bought a new compressor a while ago and ended up adjusting the pressure switch because it would not stop but disconnect from the mains before adjusting

If you do adjust the switch, do it with pressure in the tank.
