compressor questions

im going to be buying a compressor in the coming weeks.

but the compressor is going to be stored 40 feet from the wall outlet in a different shed...(noise reduction etc) and piped into my garage.

question is, will this be ok? i was thinking there may be a significant pressure drop? or the compressor will be running more often than it should to compensate for the travel?

It will power your tools ok, as long as you don't intend to use more than 1 at a time.
The very minimum size for pipe work from the compressor to your garage should be 1/2" I.D. and preferably it should be 3/4" to minimise pressure loss.

half inch bore will be well adequate . i only use 3/4 bore on me shotblasting pot which uses 90cfm

what i was going to do is use rubber air hose and fix it to the wall using electrical wire cleats...

only 1 tool to be used at a time, there is only me working.

what im worried about is not having the air pressure. in other words whe i pull the trigger of my air gun i want to have confidence that it will undo even the tightest bolt, and if that means getting a bigger compressor for my needs the so be it.

i have 3 phase by the way but i dont want to use it really.
