Compressor recomendation

Hi all,

I'm soon to be looking at buying a new compressor for building my kit car..

I currently have the Aldi one which has been ok, but just doesn't have the power..

The problem with the Aldi one is it blows good power from the gun and other tools for about 5 seconds then all power just drops away.

I'm looking for something around about 100L with a decent 14cfm.. Any ideas chaps. I'm hoping to get something for under the £400 mark.

All suggestions welcome.

I haven't used them yet cos I can only dream of having £400
to spend on a compressor but if you phone them they are helpful

I'm currently saving for one.. along with my wedding, stag do, doing up the intended's house to rent out, buy another bike (SV1000 - noticed your avatar)

So it's a while off yet tbh, but my old Aldi one's on it's last legs.

Obviously the missus to be thinks it's a waste of money as all she can think about is frilly wedding things and that HDTV "Looks no different"!!

Hi - I did alot of research before going for a SIP model. They make one that has a 240v 20amp motor. It can supply 17-18CFM. Very difficult to find 240volt single phase that will give you above 11 or 12 cfm. If you're just spraying and not using air tools you might work for you, but get a 150 or 200 litre otherwise the motor won't get any rest while you're spraying.

Hi,
I've just bought a compressor from Axminster.
Spec is, 100lt receiver, 13cfm free air, 3hp single phase motor, on wheels with a handle at the front, includes filter and regulator and proper PCL fittings. Cost was £288 inc VAT + delivery. Including delivery to a little Scottish island it was not a lot over £300. Excellent prices for an excellent piece of kit.
