compressor repairs in durham

does anyone recommend any reasonable compressor repair places in county durham or surrounding areas , I have a old 1949 vertical compressor I bought a while back ,took it to a guy to fix as had been rigged to constant run an was leaking from a diaphram and just wanted it sorted ,all he did was check it out and blank it off so it just blows out the valve when full ,just want it tested and done properly so it stops when full and shuts off plus the diaphram replaced ,its the one the right in this picture,,cheers ian

seconds for Shiremoor, been going longer than I can remember, The name half gives it away, but they moved from Shiremoor years ago and are now in Seghill next to the "little" club. The Comrades, I think the "Big" club is demolished anyway. Always my first port of call for anything and everything. Not too bad from Durham, up through the Tunnel off for Seghill, down Backworth lonnen B1322, turn right on to A190 then second left onto Barras Ave, and along onto Front street and left again,they are along on your left with loads of parking. If you continue down through Seghill,-- sightseeing watch out for the speed Camera beside the Blake arms.

cheers stan , sounds like they are just the job ,might give them a ring tomorrow , that is if I can lift it into the van ,heavy old guy that compressor but quiet as a mouse

probably what I need to sort it out ,but never really messed about with compressors but heard of some nasty accidents if not done right and I'm afraid if I have a go it would be like letting mr bean loose on it..haha

Any half decent sparky should be able to figue it out, its basically a pressure switch controlling the supply to the motor. Starts at low pressure, stops at high pressure.

As long as there is a safety valve fitted and you watch the gauges shouldnt be too difficult.

Because of the compressor age, i would also open up the receiver and inspect inside for corrossion, caused from water drop out and lying in the bottom.
