Compressor valve issues

Hi all,

I’m new here so thanks for letting me join. I have been given this 2008 compressor but as you can see the regulator has been snapped of, no problem with that but what I can’t work out is when I switch it on and it reaches cira 10 bar the safety valve underneath cut in and it drains the tank then starts all over again.

what cuts the air off and then back on again before the safety valve kicks in?
I can’t find anything on Rednal Pneumatics or CMG on the web

Is there a small plastic air line connected to the switch?

Hi and welcome.
Has the switch also been damaged or did you remove the cover?
If it's been damaged it might not be switching the compressor off, so the safety is blowing.
If its ok and not damaged there is a serew on top to adjust the cut-out pressure.
If it is damaged it's very easy to replace with a generic part.

Hi, no I don’t think it’s damaged as the nut under the cover which adjusts the spring can set the pressure it releases. That works fine, but I don’t see how it switches off.

I don’t think there is a plastic pipe either, there’s a small metal pipe which returns into the tank via a second release valve at the other end of the tank.

I have now order a new switch so I will see if this solves the issue.
