Connecting shed and garage

Hi all

My compressor is tucked away in the shed and to get it working temp, I've just been running an air line into the garage. However its now at the point that I'd like to plumb it all in properly, probably in copper and compression fittings. My only concern is linking the shed to the garage. The shed isn't on a proper foundation so is liable to move slightly, so I don't want a solid join. I'll probably use a hose tail with a flexible pipe inbetween, most likely 3/4"dia but am not sure if it would stand up to the weather and the UV. Has anyone got any thoughts?

I use plastic plumbing pipe. Cheap and easy to connect and flexible. I pressure tested it once can't remember the result but it went to many hundreds of PSI.

They're pretty cheap, even from Pirtek. Then I got matching claw fittings to some BSP threads to plumb it all together.

That is serious hose! That's what you'd use between the pump and the bottle where there pressure is much higher.

X2 the pressure rating is written on it, think it was 12bar on the blue MDPE pipe i used. It seems far too tough to shatter, unzip along its length, maybe.

Plastic designed for compressed air is OK, some of the white plastic designed for plumbing can shatter under pressure if hit with something.

Wow thanks for telling me. I have a length of this stuff hooked up. I will remove it. It shows doesnt it, I pressure tested it to be safe but would never have thought it would behave differently with compressed air.

I simply used 16mm nylon air line and Enots or push fit fittings - once I got it into the garage, into a decent sized filter and then dropped to 12mm around the garage.

It is, but I thought it was pretty cheap about £1/m and there certainly wasn't going to be a flow restriction using it. It's pretty resilient stuff, the guys digging roads up don't puncture it too often so it must be good.
