Connecting two big compressors together!? HOW?

just purchased A Snap-on compressor Specs:
3.0hp motor
200ltr air reciever
13.0 CFM
9.0FAD CFM
230 volt single phase
auto start stop control
cast iron cylinder
10BAR


I also have another air compressor that is 150ltr reciever i got off eBay 2 years ago and the pump decided to blow up? so its basicly now just a tank sitting in the garage

can i connect these two air compressors safely and just run them both off the snap-on pump?
is it going to harm my snap on compressor due the the extra load
i want to put the old compressor tank outside and leave my snap on in y garage? so can i hardline these together

i will be using this compressor to strip my car down, (DA)(die grinder) and then possible prepa and paint or primer the car (GUN)
aslo just odd fabrication

if ive missed any info lemme know?

u can couple 2 tanks together but it does put more strain on the pump and motor compressing in to a larger volume . someone who is well read up should be able to explain it technicaly

There won't be any extra load as such, the on/off times for the motor will increase, so you may exceed the duty cycle.

One advantage is that high consumption tools will run for longer, but the other side of the coin is that it'll take longer to refill the tank.

If the compressor can keep up with your tools there's no real advantage in adding an extra tank, in fact it could cost you more in electricity.

I have extra tanks on my setup that I fill first thing in the morning on Economy 7, but when they're empty I revert back to the single tank.

so how do you prevent the extra tanks from refilling when your compressor pumps are still going? are all your tanks hardlined together?

I've got a ball valve between them that I turn to the "off" position.

I take the air to my blaster from the original tank, so with the valve closed the other tanks are isolated from the circuit.

You put a valve in between and close them off.
Not quick enough again.

okay, so how do i go about connecting these compressors together? steel tubing? flexi hose? air line pipes?

Whatever easier really, I've used braided nylon air hose (make sure it's rated at 10 bar minimum) and ordinary 15/22 mm plumbing type copper pipe.

You need some flexible pipe where it joins the compressor to absorb vibration.

Stay clear of plumbing type plastic pipe, it can shatter if impacted when under pressure.
