Connecting Two Tanks

Im thinking of joining one working 50ltr compressor to a 25 ltr tank only, how would i go about it so the working compressor works when the small compressor tank is getting empty ?

I did a search but didn't really find anything, only about connecting two working compressors not another tank.

The two tanks will empty at the same time so the comp will kick back in as normal when the pressure drops

Oh right, another one of my stupid questions then lol.

So would the working compressor being 14.5 CFM 3p V be enough to work the two tanks for small diy jobs ?

I guess i just need a flex pipe from outlet working tank to the 25 ltr tank inlet. The 50 ltr compressor has two out ports, so one of them will be to connect to 25 tlr tank then the other for the tool, then the 25tlr tank will have the original one outlet for the other tool.

I think that about right, quite simple really.

I want to do it so the spare tank i have will be used and if im using a lot of air at the time, there will be enough being 75 ltr rather than 50.

You're not going to increase the output of the compressor though. What it will do increase the time between the pump switching on and off.

If the tools you are using take all the air the pump can supply increasing the tank capacity won't make any difference.

Thats good then, it will limit the amount of time the compressor will be on, the amount of time the noise is on will be reduced which is good for where i use it.

Yea its a double edged sword. im stll debating whether to adjust the cut-in time on my 150L compressor, but sometimes think I wont benefit either way.

Did this many years back,
Had a 100 litre 10cfm compressor and added a 47kg propane bottle end to end with the compressor tank with a tee piece and tap in the middle,
The propane bottle had been empty for ages but the air tools had a mild whiff of propane for a while, probably not the safest way of doing it,
Yeah the pump didn't cut in much but when it did it seemed to run for ever especially if also using the air.
