Copper for air main ?

Is ordinary plumbing 3/4" copper pipe ok for an air main ? I want to run a pipe the length of my shed which is only 6 meters long and take maybe three branches off it along its length , can it take the pressure of a normal compressor about 10 bar at the tank.

no problem at all. u can use soldered or compression fittings as well

It will be fine as long as the pikeys don't get to it!

Use lead-free solder. The old 50/50 lead would corrode and fail when exposed to high pressure air (kinda how a fire piston works.)

Mine has been 1/2" copper for years with no problems.

Cool , i can pop down to the plumbers suppliers and get a few lengths tomorrow, any feed back on the filter , regulators , lubricators that aldi and lidl sell ? They are selling them off for €12.99 at a branch near me.

remember to let the solder freeze befor tuning on the air

I install some anfd had a leaky joint. ran the blow lamp over it and resoldered and turned the supply on before the solder ad fully frozen and the liquid solder blew out the joint.
had to re do it again Doh!!!

I did my shop in 15mm copper a good few years ago and its never been a problem, not sure why you would use 3/4" though.

3/4 would be better in copper than half inch as it would give better heat disipation

if its for large cfm consumption items then definitely use 3/4

Money basically, the 3/4 is cheaper than the 1/2 for some daft reason, i thought it was marked wrong but apparently not.

With anything air i'd say bigger is always better. Less pressure drop and more capacity.

Anything less than 3/4" will give a ridiculous pressure drop over even a fairly short length. Bigger is better with air.
