not sure why mine don't work but this will get me sorted.stupidly I rushed and purchased 2 mitre clamps off screwfix and they don't hold a 90 degree corner for a but joint.
what do you all use.
He's made a bad corner clamp there ukR. Don't use the inside of a piece of angle to set your corner. There is a radius in there and unless the section your setting has a radius equal to the radius on the inside of the angle it will not sit true on both faces.not sure why mine don't work but this will get me sorted.
It's actually identical to this but only cost 9.99 from screwfix.Got a link to the ones you bought to give any ideas/suggestions/explain why they aren't suitable?
I just wanted quick. the first one I got out of the box fell apart.....and I convinced myself the second one did not do what I needed....so I thought. but I saw a bessy do what I wanted on youtube. lol£10 for a corner clamp is seriously cheap. I'd imagine it's probably cast from some sort of Micky mouse aluminium and a mile out of square.
Unless you wanna fork out ££££ for bessy clamps or equivalent your gonna be much better off knocking one up to the size you want.
I bought 4 as well, probably 4 or 5 years ago, I think they are SIP but there is nothing to fault on them, even have copper coated screws to resist spatter, reduced from £60 to £15 each from HalfordsHalfrauds were selling cast iron ones ( probably SIP ) off cheap, last year or the year before, I picked up six at £15-00 each, four for me and two of my brother in law, I believe they are selling them at the normal full price again now, Checked out and all surprisingly accurate,
