Corrugated cement sheet nails

Ive a repair job to do on the stables. Replacing a length of 6x2 fascia. Not even attempting to remove the old fixings. Ill just cut the heads off.

I need 30 of the fixings, but can’t seem to find the old heavily galvanised twirly nail type ones, only ones I can find round here are for screwing into metal purlins, or the lighter duty onduline ones which would do at a pinch.

Do they still make the proper ones nowadays ?

They wind out with mole grips quite effectively if that helps. Easy enough on a ridge with a spat you can destroy to get purchase but maybe not appropriate in your situation. Sorry, can't help with suppliers but anyone locally that puts up cement fibre roofed sheds should be able to

Id use the self drilling roofing screws rather than the nails now, do the same job and youll not crack a sheet.

That’s exactly what I used to replace the wriggly tin on the workshop roof. They do ones for wood purlins and different for metal ones.

Cheaper than nails too.

As I’m not a woodist, I was worried about bad aim with the hammer and banging the tin by mistake so I went for these.

The ones for cement fibre sheets are called drive nails.

You can usually wind them out with a pair of vice grips.

Yard womans fencing contractor has left me some of the drive screws and caps, and advised me to pilot hole them if going in new timber
