Evening, I've got a R Tech 181 mig welder which is designed to set itself automatically. I've had the machine a few months but still learning obviously. Up to now I've been using .08 wire and was starting to get a reasonably fair weld not perfect by any means but good penetration and reasonably looking.
I've recently obtained some thinner plate to practice on and R Tech recombined I should use .06 wire which would be useful to have anyhow! But for the life of me I can't get a good bead running all I'm getting is lots of splatter. I ran R Tech today for some advice and spoke to a very helpful guy, I read out all the settings the machine had chosen and he said the sounded just right for the plate thickness I was working with and was a bit stumped to what was going wrong. I'm using gas with 5% Argon and the flow tube is set a 10 to 12 which he said was about right.
So I would appreciate it if anyone could suggest what I could be doing wrong or anything I could try to solve it.
Much appreciate any advice
