has any body made a spray booth?
ive got some ideas in my head for a booth but need to refine them
i have a 16ft square space where i spray, there are two walls a side and rear wall, i can make another wall and doors out of studwork but i have found some insulated cold room sections, so the plan is to use these for another wall and hinge the other sections to make doors
the next problem is the ceiling, 16ft square means 8 sheets of 8x4 osb will clad whatever i make, i dont know whether to go for 80x80 box but i want to make steel rafters, one side can sit on a plate on the blockwork wall and the other side can have legs with 150m square plate and bolted down
not sure about load, the idea is to use the roof of the booth for storage so i want about half a ton of car parts stored up there but then there is the weight of the extractor to figure in oo
ive got a supply of fresh air that can be ducted in from ten feet to the right of the booth and the extracted (filtered) air can go out of a disused flue 20 feet above
the unknown is the heating of the booth so far but will probably go for a powermatic gas heater
heat rises though, i want to extract the paint fumes and airborne spray but not the heat, so was thinking of having one extractor above but having it drawn from lower down so it doesnt pull out the heat
i know about the earthing of electricals and ducting, that the extractor has to be driven by offset motor so sparks from the brushes cant ignite paint vapour, that light switches need to be outside the booth to prevent sparking, ive got the sealed lights/wiring/switches, i dont know the minimum ammount of cfm needed to extact the vapours safely, anybody know the figure?
will be using a heavy duty 3 phase extractor, 3hp motor, not sure of the cfm though
