Hi, what is the minimum required amount of cubic feet per minute required for a DA Sander? Iv been told it's around 12 CFM? Thanks
You should talk to mr @The_Yellow_Ardvark regarding your house however...
You need to sort your compressor first...
A normal b&q type compressor will do it, not too small obviously, failing that just have a quick break every time the motor kicks in...
13 cfm compressor minimum or an electric version.
The only problem with the electric ones they are generally single speed where the air ones the speed can be feathered...
YeahVery air hungry. I went electric orbital
gave up on air DA sanders years ago......cost to much in the noise department, electricand gen wear n tear......
went electric
Which is easier run 3hp compressor con or just under 1 hp electric da int ?A better quality air sander is more efficient & uses less air but no matter what one I use my 3hp 14cfm compressor is running constantly to keep up with it!
Lovely and it's Makita. If it was another brand I wouldn't risk 90 squids. I got an Orbital sander with 5 speed and it's absolutely unbelievably dreadfully crap.Recently bought this

its top notch. lovely to use and batteries last ages.
I've got an air mirka. 650 or something.
Got it on a 14cfm compressor and it works fine.
Curiously I used to run it unregulated, but now plug it into the regulator and it seems to run just as well but use less air.
(I don't have any numbers for you though, in afraid)
