Da sanders,help please

I know as a rule air tools are pretty heavy on air,but are there any da sanders that will work with a small compressor,i think mine is a clarke tiger 8/35 turbo not sure of the actual specs,but i think it's only a 24l tank

I saw this da that seems to have a pretty low consumption,would my compressor power it ?

I've got a similar one (it'll be the same just with a different sticker on it)

Not to disagree with Engineer - you can if you're very patient, you'll only be able to sand around 40-50% of the time, as the compressor will be charging it up. (I was using a 24l 1.5hp comp at the time)

I've now got a 3hp direct drive that is very happy using it continuously.

I did an MX5 bootlid back to bare metal with it.

oooh thanks Fran,i might get a cheap one and try then,i don't mind waiting while the pressure builds back up,good excuse to rest my poor arthritic bones

You will be wasting your money............trying to use a DA with that small a compressor, will mean progress is so slow, you would get the job done quicker sanding by hand!

DA's consume lots of air; an electric one would be a smarter choice IMHO.

Agreed, total waste of time if you havn't got the compressor to run it.
