After getting the motor working (a welded centrifugal switch), I turned this on today to see what was what. Pressure builds to about 5 Bar, but the NRV doesn't seem to be doing its job properly - there's a hiss at the on/off pressure switch box, and I find the pastille under the brass blanking plug on the NRV has no associated spring. Is this always present? After the motor appeared to stall, I removed the head of the pump to check the valves. It is a bit ropey, but nothing majorly wrong is obvious. I have considered replacing the rather hardened gasket material. However, I haven't found a source for the particular shape of this valve section. I can't see a manufacturer's name on the pump. The air filter foam is starting to crumble so I need some more of that, too. The only thing I've done to the pump is drain and refill the oil (on receipt, it was crammed zealously with a huge amount of oil, so I have refilled it to the centre of the sight glass spot).
