What compressor should I buy????

It will be from Machine Mart, there is a VAT free offer on at the minute and they seem to have a good range.

I mainly run a Cut 30 plasma from R-Tech from it but no doubt as has been said before I'll find other uses for it.

It will be housed outside in it's own shed so size is not a factor, budget however is.

I had £500 in mind but with the offer if that comes in closer to £400 then all the better.

I'm more than happy to add another receiver of my own in time.

What is the difference between their red and blue ranges (semi-pro)?

Or should I just go industrial and be done with it?

Not too many questions I hope, I've done a search but "compressor" is too common in this category to refine the results.

buy the biggest one you can (cfm and fad wise)

only downside is the larger the motor the more £££ it costs to run

Add a little bit to it and get the se18/200 (I think) it's the biggest they do for 240v single phase. Had mine for 6-7yrs still going strong

I had the se16c100 that's £399 without the vat and have been impressed with it, if you add another £40 you get a 150litre receiver version, I have used a da sander and although it runs a lot with this it never loses pressure, also run it with an airfed mask and devilbiss sri pro spraygun without issue.

Ditto, I bought this a few years ago, no problem. I since got chance of a 150ltre jobby and linked it up, will now do just about anything I want of them.

Scares me with suggestions like this, get a decent cast iron compressor from the like of air industrial equipment, will outlast your welder easily, and also DAZ1968 i hope if you are using that compressor for breathing air you have the 1uM, 0.01um and carbon filters to make it safe to do so?

The clarke industrial has a cast iron pump and is a good budget choice for home use,
Regards filtration I have correct filtration for breathing air and compressor is sited in a separate building and air piped to point of use with drop legs to remove as much moisture as possible.
