Was working great, but now theres not even a peep out of the fan. Cant find a wiring diagram, or any place that will look at it. Too good a machine to scrap. Steve (Cumbria/Lancs)
The box is a contactor(fancy name for a relay, a high current electromagnetic switch), you can get them on Ebay for a few pounds. The contactor pulls in when you pull the trigger, that's what makes the clunk along with the gas solenoid valve.
Is the thermal cutout good? (bottom left of pic 3) stuck on side of thransformer. Should show as a short when metered across it's terminals (with atleast one connector removed) On my welder it controls the power from the low voltage transformer which feeds amoungst other things the main pcb, hence cut out open = no operation of machine!
