Death of a friend (Speedglas 9000v)

After almost eleven years faithful service , two sets of batteries and about 200 outer lenses , the old girl has packed up on me today . It's been dropped , kicked swore at and praised a lot . It will be missed I just hope the new one will serve me as well.

I think I'd still have mine today if some one hadn't dropped it and cracked the lens in the unit while I was away on holiday a few years ago, (they hung it back on it's peg and nobody knows how it happened though).

Best helmet I've ever had and was way more reliable than the 9000V that replaced it, we had 5 times the returns under complaint than we did with the old APC's. We swapped to Optrel after that as they were a lot more reliable, we still sell Speedglas from time to time but I think they are pricey for what you get.

The biggest cheek was making people pay extra for a 9000X if you wanted a helmet that would work well on low amp DC tig. If the helmet is £200+ it should work on anything full stop.
