Deja Vu 100 years between photos

Today I was in Rochdale and saw their war memorial, didnt go there to see it, it was just between 2 places I was walking to

and was then trying to work out where I can remember it from.. then I remembered it was from a postcard from a local company that supplied the granite to make it.

Im guessing its probably been there for 100 years (or so) now. Shame its a bit big to fit in the mining and quarrying section of the local industrial museum.

The first picture, I would have seen the flags . . . having seen the second, I assume they are painted articles of some description?

Are the WW1 dates gone from the modern image or is it just that the image is low resolution?

good question, I was joking and its an industrial museum, the company that made the blocks was local, this is their plant and the granite was quarried in cornwall. the second picture was from an advertising postcard done by the company in the 1920's

and this is another postcard that showed their plant in the same era.

its still there, the photo is low resolution......I still take mine at VGA resolution (640x480 pixels)

Or at least will be - I was a little surprised when I went past tail end of last year to see the things happening after being surprised the previous trip past to see the whole site leveled. I don't go past very often these days.
