Review Devilbiss GPI Spraygun

Not a really in depth review. Been doing some spraying with my GPI 1.4mm and it's a fantastic gun, would highly recommend one.

One reason why I got one is I thought along with the 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8mm sizes I might be able to use the caps available to the GTi pro and lite as the GPI is almost identical to the GTI pro body, but unfortunately Devilbiss have made some changes so you can't, or not easily. The GTi needle is thicker so doesn't fit but you could machine it down if really keen. The air cap doesn't quite wind up tight so would need a bit of work to get it to fit also.

Put a plastic bag over the gauge, keep it in place with an elastic band.

I always use whip tails on spray guns it makes them rather stiff to move and heavy having the bayonet coupling on the gun

I use a 1/2" hose from my air fed mask Y. Proper air flow and easy to use.

Why?

Keeps the solvent from damaging the (usually) plastic dial face. Even a glass one is better without paint mist.

Solvent doesn't bother these ones.

Always used Devilbiss guns but never got on with top feed, long life, good quality, spares no problem, worth the money every time.
I agree with @ajlelectronics regarding covering the dial, I also used a long tail light on the gun

The GPI is the best gun I've ever used but I am no pro sprayer. Big fan and just lays the paint on great. I also have a small length of hose that runs to the Y connector on my air fed regulator for the spray gun. The main air hose connects to the regulator which I have on my belt. All works well for me.

This is a thread I did for the gun gauge regulators, no need to stuff about covering these, just wipe them down with thinners if you get overspray on them, doesn't bother them one bit. They are quality. https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/ani-gun-regulator.88081/
