Dinitrol under paint??

Hello All
I've a spray can of Dinitrol Converust which is supposed to be sprayed on to lightly rusted areas to 'kill' the nasty brown stuff. On the can it says that the finish can be overpainted. Has anyone tried using it this way, as a sort of pre-primer?

yeah that would be the way to use it

most of these products need to be sealed from the damp with primer /paint etc

can you not sand off the rust first? not really keen on these convertors , unless its just pits that you cant remove

Yes I've sanded the rust off, but I'm sure there's always a few 'seeds' of it left ready to lift the paint in a few months. So if the Dinitrol stuff slows the process down I'm for it. I was really just wondering if it would cause adhesion problems with the primer or paint.

I use the hydrate 80 to paint over scabs the skim over with filler or primer then paint Ant!
