Hi all,
Been a while since i was here but thought id share one of the jobs i have done for you all.
The dipper arm had twisted due to the shear size of attachment (last picture with the attachment fitted) as the operator tried cutting some heavy steel.
It was decided that i would make it 8 feet shorter and add strength to it using a 60mm thick base plate and 25mm thick gussets.
Plenty of thinking and measuring was needed to make sure the top pins were aligned correctly to give the arm the right amount of tilt or it would of gone too far or not far enough under or not enough. i used a plumb line between the pin centres and measured the distance and luckily managed it in 4 cuts using the Hypertherm plasma.
Enjoyed this one as it wasnt just another repair
Cheers
