Direct drive air compressor

Hello people,
looking for advice on how to quiten down my direct drive compressor. the noise it makes when filling the reciever is really really noisy, difficult to be in the same area with it until its full. Its not an option to put it in the living room while working in the garage, er' indoors gets angry about it.!!!!
Any advice would be appreciated,

Most people build an enclosure, similar to a dog kennel. You need to make sure there is ample cooling. Have a search, there are a few threads on this topic.
