Discovery 2 TD5 inlet manifold removal/core plug replacement

Tonkas decided to spring a coolant leak, its looking like a core plug on the inlet side

Has anyone done one ? Was wondering if its best to remove the inlet manifold and do it from above or if it can be got at from below (would need to be on a ramp I think )

You won't get in from below, alternator in the way

Typically its the one behind the engine miunt

Managed to sort it today. Nothing too complex just lots of fiddly spannering. It was the core plug behind the engine mount, was expecting it to be rusted thin but just some wierd corrosion pits that had pinholes through. Did the O rings on the fuel cooler while it was off, that was full of gunk
