Well got this chop saw a few weeks back to fix up but decided to make a linisher/ disc sander/ diamond tool sharpener with it due to having a band saw and thats quieter.
So tripped it down and cleaning it up and will get more done i hope this week amongst other stuff tat needs doing in here.
That bugger took some getting out (small spindle that is ) the pivot was the hardest part to remove. bit of WD40 and a good lump hammer helped. Love how the owd stuff is built. Soid and strong with good grease points.
this was below the cutting area that was pivoted. not sure what that would be for ??? a long cast tray. Pic witht he main pivot pin cleaned up.
I didnt need to do all this but thoguht what the heck why not
cleaned the bed and
all tapped holes out to be sure.
Oh yes, before i did that i made the rollers.
155mm or so long to take 100mm or if it works on adjustment the 150mm belts.
some off cut tube from work
Machined fir the 20x42x12 bearings for top roller.
And for the drive pulley i used the spacer and made it fit a new roller so it would bolt on perfic
welded it in, and machined back to better
I will be trying the motor it has which is a 3ph 2800rpm, should be reat, but i have got a few motors here to try. Ill wire it up the VFD from the Mill form a split Y .
The sanding/diamond disc will be on the drive pulley. Tey will be seperate parts so will change from sanding to diamond when needed.
Thats as far as it has got in last couple days. get more done this week a si need to sharpen my Mill bits asap.
Hope you all had a good one BTW. me more fun int shed after folk had gone home haha
