Work colleague of mine judges concours stuff at VW shows and he hates these (and the Golf Harlequins). They had to get a colour chart from VW to confirm what combinations they actually made so that they know if they see one that it is or isn't as it would have left the factory. Apparently they went down the normal production line and then a team played mix & match with the panels according to a formula at the end.I only parked my Polo there for a minute, next thing.....................View attachment 58922

There are also stories of dealers working with each-other to swap the panels back and end up with single colour cars when the model proved to be unpopular and difficult to sell.
