I would just bore it out and use the bean can as the pistonI'd cut a bean can to make a liner and resize the piston on the bench grinder
The LAbstore do rings but that's it. No pistons or cylinders listed. I think that you're in a similar position to me with my wrecked Bambi.
I completely get what you're saying. It's not in my workshop but on site so I rarely see it and the people who are using it wouldn't know what rough running sounded like.not having a go at you, more a general remark, but how can things get to this point without someone questioning things... did it perhaps not sound just a tad rough running prior to eating the cylinder completely??? surely the noise (bag of spanners) would have made the owner question whether all was ok??

in the workshop, I see this regularly, bearings destroyed to the point that the casings / housings were demolished completely... just had a wee Bosh electric mower in on monday, just stopped he said.... ok have a look, bottom bearing nothing left only the inner race on the shaft..., plastic housing melted, shaft tipped over to one side, partially jammed and overheated the motor and that in turn melted top bearing.... nothing worth salvaging, scrap...I always ask the same question, surely you must have heard it, well it was a wee bit louder than normal.... loud !! it must have been screaming for it's life..... shame, really if they brought it in earlier, a 5 quid bearing and all would have been rosy again... now their into it for at least a couple of hundred for a new one... ok I repair stuff so it's work for me, but all the same.
