Does a rose joint coupler exist?

I am having a couple of days working on the project Scimitar GTC and one of the jobs is to replace the Granada shifter with the later Scorpio type. The issue I have is that the Granada shifter is male on the output lever and the Scorpio is female so I now have two females at the shifter coupling. It's not actually a rose joint but a stiff grommet in a hole that accepts the pin of the male and is then circlipped with a retainer. As I now have a pair of females, I could rectify the matter with a "back to back" male, sort of a pin with a washer halfway along it to act as a bearing surface.

Trouble is, I want it tomorrow so that I can get on with testing the shifter's physical position and get the mounting plate glassed in.

I think that is for putting a rose joint where a normal track rod end would go, so one end is tapered.

Anyway, would a shoulder bolt do the job? It has a machined diameter on it so would fit the rose joints with no play. You would have to add the washer, maybe by drilling/reaming the next size down to a snug fit (i.e use an M5 washer opened out to 6mm for a 6mm pin).

Haven't taken any, I finished in a rush today and only realised the issue last minute.

Visualise a flat bar with a grommet in it. That is what comes from the gear shift assembly. The coupling coming from the gearbox is similar, like a locked rose joint which features the same grommet. One or the other is supposed to be a fixed clevis pin which passes through the grommet on the other. Then a "rectangular clip" doing the job of a circlip is fitted to the end of the pin. It's a bit like a cheap version of proper rose joints, but Ford made extensive use of them even on the pudding stirrers.

The pin is a welded in clevis pin with this clip and grommet. The lever arm from the shifter had the pin on the early one.

It's an M4 thread, you'll need a split pin Andy, I've got them too, can bung it in the post tomorrow.

It's a marine morse cable connection, pretty standard on boats.

The rod isn't threaded at the shifter end so it gets a bit more interesting. Gearbox end appears to be 3/8" UNF so not M8 as I would have thought.

That is the right sort of animal but it is going to need to be M8 or M10. I will have a wander up to the local place this AM and see what they have in stock. I can see me having to cobble something out of some studding.
