Does anyone know the manufacturer?

Hi to everyone.
I'm new to the forum but can't leave it alone, so much useful info.

I'm after a bit of help from you knowledgeable folks out there.

Does anyone recognise the manufacturer and model of this welder, i presume they are made for MAC tools by a.n.other... company but who? It was supplied with a Miller G.A.15 eurotorch but I can't find a similar model on the Miller website.

I have googled and can only find 1 result for Mac Tools MW185ET and that was a mention of a fleabay listing, I have emailed Mac Tools but as yet no reply, the "service hotline" just goes to an answerphone and I don't konw if we still have a Mac tools local dealer or how much help he would be!

I have had the welder for about ten years, it was bought from my local Mac dealer as a factory refurb unit and has been a good welder, in fact only 1 failure in ten years which was the live incoming cable rubbed through on the top corner of the transformer.

So if anyone can help identify the make/model I would be most greatful.

Hi and welcome to the forum, sorry can't help with welder but torch should be easy to replace, can recommend Binzel (MB 15 AK) reasonably priced and spares too, we use a lot of them at work so they can survive industrial use!

Same factory as Clarke & some of the European Miller models (hence the Miller torch), what is it you need?

01952 is Telford way. There used to be quite a big importer around that way called SAW & WELD. It could have been them that brought them in (they didnt make them) but they went bust ages ago

Thanks for the reply's.

I just wanted to locate user literature and posibly some circuit diagrams for future reference. I was struggling to find a shroud and liner for the torch locally, but I have recently fitted a new 4m Parweld torch.

Where are you based Weldequip?

These were imported for the Mac tools UK market the manufacturers of which were Italian and came under the umbrella of RTW Devilbiss (Hobart Uk & Miller) among other things.
Anyway, if you just have a torch issue then a decent welding outlet will have all the shrouds/tips you require. I too have the same machine so if I can find any paperwork I will let you know!

MAC tools are pretty big in the USA almost on a par as snap-On for being well known for quality. some say they are better these days. You often see them on shows with Chip foose in or Jesse James.
