Got to use up the horseshoes somehow, I don't have an artistic bone in my body, (but I'm really good at copying images) I genuinely have a mice in the garage problem but i don't this will do any good at getting rid of them.

I've been thinking of making (a) clock(s) with them, using an eBay clock movement.....

I was going to paint the cat black with a white tip on the tail, But decided I like it as it is so just a couple of coats of clear, Plus I liked the hint of copper on the whiskers from the 3mm gas rods.

I was going to ask how you got the finish. Just polish up [wire wheel?], then the clear?

Finish is just 60grit flap wheel,

lovely job, im on with a bench and tables at minute with horse shoes, have you welded the ears on im assuming or have you heated and bent them back?

Hi, Paul, The first one i made i just cut a couple of small mitres and left a bit still attached, bent them over and welded,( no heat or hammers involved) The quicker method i have developed is to just mark down the shoe open ends around one and a quarter inches and mark straight across, then swap the cut off ends to the opposite side and weld, Looks good and the ears are at a nice angle too. eyes are 3/4" black washers, whiskers and curly eyebrow bits are 3mm gas welding rods, the copper coating is a nice contrast to the ground steel
P.S. Made another two today as extra presents for my granddaughters.
