Looks like an abstract version of two people hugging to me.

Not getting into the whole art/not art thing as I don't believe there is a definitive answer, but I do like the hearts, they look excellent!

I think the hearts look better because of their rough finish, and the 2nd one..I see 2 people hugging, yes it's art of some sort and somewhere someone would make the same and get ££££££'s for it

Some body once gave me an explanation of what 'Art' is.
She explained that what I do is not art as I cannot explain what it means, it just looks nice. Also I could not explain why I did my work.
Her husband however does real art.

Well I know why I did them... trying to get something from her. I want a new welder

The hearts were going to be rust coloured but i havent got round to playing with my ammonium chloride yet so it just gave them a quick spray with the silver paint i had.

They are really good makes you an artist in my book, its sculpture. Plain steel looks great and to a fair degree rust proofs it if you heat it up to about 220 degrees and rub it with a candle (it'll smoke like bggry so dont do it in the house unless your mrs is understanding) then buff it up with a rag.

The hearts are great, certainly something I'd expect to pay money for.

Could see the two people in the second piece, I'd personlly like a more sympathtic mounting though (maybe on wood or a piece of slate rather than the flat bar ?)

Either way the important thing is that you and your mrs like them - sod what everyone else thinks

The Mr and Mrs thingy is great.
I can see ways of improving it.
But it works. Again the fact that people can see ways of 'making it better' shows they are thinking about it.
If it did not work they would forget about it instantly.
Mounting sculpture?, one of the most difficult things to do.
Or one of the easiest.

After 4 years at art college, a fine art degree and a fair bit of lecturing to boot, I would like also like to add "Cobblers".

I think the best art here is the use of the them to get a new welder, borderline genius.

Any suggestions to improve these are greatfully recieved btw. I just knocked them up to see if the concept worked. I want to make a few similar things now i have a taste for it.

Start adding birdpoop, weld splatter to the next one you do....

That will re-inforce your plan of "I need a new welder"
