Dowidat ratchet spanner

Found this dowidat ratchet spanner at a car boot sale, the centre splined section pushes out so the sockets are interchangeable, anyone know where you can obtain these, I know its german and old and I believe were made with gedore.

Why not contact them to see if the socket part is available. My guess is you will have to pay more than Snap-On prices though. In fact they list the 115mm socket and handle at $3509.08

Whats the best quality in sockets and spanners ? When i was serving my time it was britool, but i was told they went downhill in quality after.

Brittool is still good in my eyes, facom is another good make, snap on is fine but too costly for my budget when less will do the same job

A previous employer had one of these kicking about with a few sockets, seem to recall him saying he bought it second hand when he started work, hes retired now.

Halfords pro range are probably the best value with their lifetime warranty. Good tools.

Best sockets etc

Just had to fork out £40+ for a particular Snap-on spanner as they were the only people making one that would get were needed!
However I agree that Halfords Pro range seem good, feel good and ,as has already been pointed out, have a good warranty.
Also rate Facom and Beta. The local Beta agent is always up for a deal which helps!
Teng always come out well in comparative tests but I've found their stuff a bit "clumpy" See that Ed China in the TV series Wheeler Dealers seems to have been equipped by them.
Don't know about the quality of the current Britool stuff but I still have and use Britool sockets and combination spanners bought 50 years ago when every trainee agricultural engineer aspire to a Britool Tractorman's Repair Kit!

the new britool sockets are the same as all the rest of the sockets there churning out .a few were missing out of my old sets so bought original second hand ones of eblag which cost more than the new ones , better quality

Facom bought or merged with Britool a good few years back then Stanley bought 'em around 2006 and since 2010 they've been brand names of the Stanley Black & Decker empire...
