I've had this on the go for a while now, and while im undecided about how to mount it i thought I would show you guys the pics, It will be mounted on either a big bulrush ( 6ft ish ) on a base plate or wall/fence mounted.
The wings are made from 6mm Perspex , I put the veins on using an engraver. I also put the braces on the wings as supports to eliminate the Perspex breaking in strong winds.
I did add some colour for a change instead of the usual browns and blacks.

if it is up for sale a good idea might be to prepare a couple of mounts a tall one eg the bulrush you mention and a lower one some short bits of reed? and maybe wall mounted and offer a choice. the unused one could be kept for future use.

Good idea, possibly weld the bulrush head to the legs ,then have 2 mounts high / low ,so the mount just slides in to the bulrush head
