Drain-off fittings??

Hello
Got an old 200 ltr compressor, but is does not have a bottom drain. Any ideas what I could use to make my own drain of at the bottom??

Going to use a ball valve but need to get something welded to tank 1st then I can screw into to fit b/valve.

Any suggestions?

The compressors that didn't have a bottom drain used to have a dip tube from the top for draining.

If your saying it doesn't have any fitting at the bottom at all then just cut a hole and weld in a threaded bush, then screw in a 90 degree male to male with a lever ball valve screwed onto that. Alternatively, instead of screwing the ball valve on directly, screw on a nylon tube adaptor so that the ball valve can be remotely mounted for convenience.

your 1st suggestion is exactly what I am thinking using 15mm b/valve. Where could I get a suitable threaded bush?

Any pipe fitting supplier. They may not have a weld adaptor type so just use a male threaded bush and weld to the hexagon.
