Drill Press machining help needed and belt info.

I've had a bit of time on the clarke drill press I got first of the crank arm for raising the table the grub screw was duff ( to many times with the wrong size allen key ) managed to remove it and redrilled and tapped for a new m8.
next the pin holding the idler pulley wobbled in the hole like a sausage in a bucket I've reamed it to fairly straight with what i've got .
Now anyone in or around Newcastle who could machine me a new pin to weld in the pulley arm ? beer tokens obviously. The bearing in the pulley itself was also duff so a new deeper bearing has been aquired for that . lastly the two belts aquired of fleabay are way too short even though they are supposed to be correct for the press a CDP 12 EB struggling on the net to find belt type and length,
any help with the machining would be great.

Pulley has 15.2 hole?
Would do it for you, but too far sorry.
There are apps for beltselection, seen IT on another post recently, Will search tommorow.

Cannot find it back but if you search for v belt calculator in the app store a few come up that look good, don't know if they are?

cheers I'll have a look for a belt calculator, it's a new pin I need machining which goes into the drill casting
not into the pulley, no offers of help ?

Thanks but not really a help I dont just have two pulleys I've 3 pulleys 1 fixed on drill head one floating on a pivot and 1 adjustable on the motor each pulley with 4 belt positions !
I'm sure the belts on it aren't correct as with the motor at full extension the belts are still slack
also from what I've found on the net the belts should be unequal lengths on this there's only 5mm difference in length between the two belts.

Also whats to say the two belts that are on it are the correct section for the pulleys ???.

Hello, if you move the motor almost all the way in (to slacken) and tighten it, then pull the middle pulley tight on the front belt, you can measure the distance between the motor pulley and the middle pulley. As long as you measure the diameters of corresponding belt positions, the calculator will work. The belt length stays the same no matter which position you choose.
I tried the calculator with four different ratios and the belt length was within 5mm each time.

thanks for the advice but firstly How do I know the first belt I'm using between the quill pulley and idler pulley is the correct length and section and secondly I can't pull anything against anything until I can get someone to turn me a new pin for the idler pulley arm. Maybe I'm asking in the wrong section ! as no one forthcoming with offers of a little machining.

could try looking using one of the other names this drill was sold under it looks identical to mine with a nutool label

Its nearly sorted now but think I may need to source a new idler pulley as the casting is carp !
the new slightly deeper bearing is still fractionally slack on the outer race as its been machined badly.
new pins been done and welded back in the arm so just want to get it up and running really and drilling stuff for no good reason .

I have a Clarke bench drill (CDP16EBN) with a similar belt drive system. Just replaced the belts after about 35 years use.
Both belts are the same. Originals were Mountain 23, replacements (I got from a local engineers supplies co) are
TGB Transmissions Z23. I believe the 23 is the length, in inches, of the inside of the belt. They work just fine.

Yea when I measured mine they were within 5mm of each other but this leaves the motor pulley very tight to the cover ( nearly fully out ) and the belts still no were near tight. I've a 21" belt to give it a try it was only a few quid.
