They don't actually produce compressed air, just dry it.

Admittedly I never actually read much into it, I just quickly looked at the numbers then thought WTF that's actually quite impressive!

To me machinemart and harbour freight are the same company yet in the states the sell cheap refrigerator air driers for sub £200. Wish they would sell them here as the would accommodate the majorities requirements. How many of us can justify £1500 for dry air unless your getting paid to spray cars?

It would probably be cheaper to import one that buy it from machinemart.

Woukdnt import, too much hassle if there is a problem with the tackle. I buy all big stuff local, keeps money local and easy to sort any issues. Just pointing out that they sell all the other hobby grade tackle for compressors and blasting, just not the dryers?

The Americans seem to get a better deal on everything, look at the price of an engine rebuild kit for a v8 then look at the equivalent over here!

Yup, when I had my engine rebuilt (not a V8 BTW) I was looking at the price of Coswoth rods and pistons and they were pretty much half the price across the pond, 'but' import tax would have been through the roof..

It's the same with everything, look through the American northern tool catalogue then compare it to the one we get, half the kit and a huge price hike!

Horrid Fright will ship here, and that's something recent, I think. I'm sure I checked a couple of years ago and they wouldn't. Otoh, the cheapness would have to be much to make it worthwhile, and looking at a lot of their stuff, most of it's already arriving in the UK/Europe from China via our own importers and often at prices that aren't too different from HF.
A recent example was the tyre changer I bought - HF price was something like $40 (but they offered a bike wheel adapter for an extra $20) and the same one, doubtless from the same factories, is selling here for as low as £27, but no sign of a motorcycle adapter. No biggie, I'm just making my own m'bike changer, but I snapped up one of the car tyre changers anyway, as it will be quite useful.
Northern Tool and NT UK were occasionally reasonably close in price, but NT UK seems to have gone down the plug'ole recently, which is a damn shame, as I had irregular and satisfactory dealings with them.
