didnt even know these existed...could see these being handy in a crane, however ive been using dry wipe on the glass for the last 18 months and its hard to beat for simplicity. does look a good gadget though

On a site I go to a guy uses one, looks pretty handy to be fair. I have a few a4 notebooks to get through first - but I can see the attraction for filing stuff where you can retrieve it easily.

On site I write on bits of plasterboard and plywood.

I think the guy said the one he has links to his Google/Microsoft account or similar so anything he writes is automatically uploaded and he can view it on his pc/phone/tablet - that sounds pretty handy.

Yes - although the company that makes the screens is E-Ink so a bit like Hoover and vacuum cleaner.

Never heard of a rocket book - Googled it, looks an interesting idea!

Nope, call me old school but I'm sticking with the inside of a fag packet / back of a receipt. For larger sketches there's usually a clear patch of paper in The Metro / Evening Standard.

I use OneNote on my laptop/phone/tablet for most note taking these days, all syncs so doesn't matter what device I'm in

I'm looking at what I invest in next as I start doing more surveys, one of those might be better than an iPad?

35 years ago, any self respecting wagon driver, me included, had one of these stuck to his windscreen:



And we used A-Z's and spiral bound maps as well not these fancy "Johnny come lately" satnav things .

Neighbour typically uses either battens or 2x4s. One day he was feeling particularly flush and wrote it on an off cut of my office staircase a nicely planed piece of Douglas fir.

I went down to the local builders depot with the shopping list and the depot manager said that's a nice bit of timber where's it from. I told them Davies their rival builders merchant.
