E.R.P Air compressor B15/50

There is one of these near me for sale 2nd hand!

I'm restoring a Landy so I'm thinking it will be ok for spraying as it has 9cuft FAM but only a 50l tank.

I have a another tank, 150l at a guess, from an old upright sprayer that has a busted motor, I'm thinking the bigger tank could be plumbed in with this but would it be worthwhile?

Looking at their website there are three versions, 50l, 100l and 150l and it looks like all have the same motor/pump on the top. Obviously it would take longer to get up to pressure, other than that has any one done this or have any knowledge of ERP kit?

The receiver acts as a reservoir of pressure, a good way to think of it is to imagine the receiver being very small, then very large. If very small even a low demand airtool would drop the pressure quickly, but if very large it would take much longer, so maintaining working pressure for longer. The ultimate factor that determines the air demand that can be supported though is the capacity of the pump. If the demand of the tool or tools working from the compressor exceeds it's FAD capacity the pressure in the receiver will just continue to fall. If the demand is very close or equal to the FAD the compressor will just run continuously.
Also, the higher the pressure the compressor has to maintain in the tank the less it's FAD.
So, although a larger receiver will extend the time the tool can work at a given pressure before the compressor has to replenish, the longer it will have to work to bring it back to pressure.

Tigler, thanks for the comprehensive reply.
I think I'll have a look and, if I can do the deal, give it a go as is. I'm told the brand is ok and that are ERP helpful if there are issues.
If the guide in the "sticky" is correct a spray gun uses between 4-6 cuft FAD, and I won't have an excessivly long hose. I've been reading up about regulators/hose/fitting sizes and will look at those if I get it and need more oomph.
Its only a smallish m/c so I don't expect miracles.....

Guns use a wide variety of amounts of air; conventional mini could use as little as 2-4cfm, my mini HVLP stated 9cfm. Fullsize HVLP could be 15cfm or more. A 'conventional' fullsize gun is prob around 7ish cfm. Basically, just check the gun specs to see if it's in the ballpark.

I did my Landy with a mini gun (~4cfm) at first as much was done panel-by-panel. Then blew over it all later with a full size gun. 50 litre tank will do but you'll have to wait while it refills, don't want it running continuously, they have a duty cycle plus it'll make hot/wet air.
Best to have longer hose to the reg/water trap than shorter so the moisture has more chance to drop out (copper lines are really good for cooling the air too).

I've just bought the ERP one in the title, locally from fleabay, so I guess I need to get it home and see what its like, I believe it is a British made m/c and the co. is still going. It comes with a spray gun and some hose, I'll have to wait and see if its any good!

I initially intend to use it for squirting waxoyl into the Disco's chassis when I've finished cleaning it up. When thats done I'm hoping to use it for spray prep. for the NCF Sahara body I have to go on the Disco chassis, final painting will probably be done by a professional.

I've often wished I have had compressed air handy for odds and ends so it could be ok for the time being, if not it might end up in the For Sale section on here!
