I believe 7018AC is a 7018 which will work on a low OCV machine such as a buzz box. They are only easily available in the USA.
As Technical says, 7018 should work on AC provided the OCV of the welder is at least the value specified for the rod. Look at the spec sheet, but it's usually 65 to 75. Buzz boxes have a 50V OCV. Oil cooled welders often had a higher voltage range specially for use with rods needing a higher OCV.
There are a few threads on here about people trying to use 7018s with buzz boxes and finding they were very hard to strike and to maintain the arc - basically unusable.
Thanks for your comments,I thought it was only me that could not get a 7018 to strike, I am going to weld 6mm steel, would it be OK to use 3.2mm 6013s.
