Picked her up 18 months ago but haven't had much time or space to do more than a quick clean. I think its a late 1930s ML1.
new shed built so for the first time In years I have a tidy organised garage. Complete strip down and clean. Managed to get the headstock back together eventually. Somebody had done a bad job converting it to v belt pulleys in the past. Something to remachine at a later date. Should have the final bits cleaned and reassembled tomorrow ready to machine some new handles. Looks to have up cycled stop cock wheels at present. For a prewar machine it has surprisingly little wear. Headstock is tight and true as is the tail stock and travels the whole bed evenly with no tight or loose spots. Probably not the best choice for a first lathe but enjoying getting to grips with its inner workings. Plan on fabbing a new drive feed from the motor. The bodge up visible is a bit rattly for my liking and more gearing is always a plus.
