I've got a bulb out of my cooker hood. On it is stamped E8. It's a 40watt.
If E stands for Edison screw (I think the bulb is actually small Edison screw) does the 8 refer to the glass part of the bulb as in it's shape and size? If it does I would have thought it would say SES 8 ?
There is also LE stamped on the base of the bulb.I've tried to show this in one of the photos.Viewable when enlarging view on phone screen.
If I know exactly what I have it may help me to replace this bulb with an LED equivalent, which is what I prefer.
