Edison screw bulbs (pic).

I've got a bulb out of my cooker hood. On it is stamped E8. It's a 40watt.

If E stands for Edison screw (I think the bulb is actually small Edison screw) does the 8 refer to the glass part of the bulb as in it's shape and size? If it does I would have thought it would say SES 8 ?
There is also LE stamped on the base of the bulb.I've tried to show this in one of the photos.Viewable when enlarging view on phone screen.

If I know exactly what I have it may help me to replace this bulb with an LED equivalent, which is what I prefer.

Does look more like SES than ES. Checked my hood and it's SES.

Googled for "LED Cooker Hood Bulbs" and first result is https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooker-Energy-Saving-Small-Screw/dp/B00VTQTD1G, there's oodles to pick from and they look the correct bulb shape as well as SES.

You can get LED replacements which are not prone to vibration but still stand up well to temperature. White makes everything look a bit clinical (this is the mistake I made). Next time I will go for cool white.

cool white is more bluey-white like hospital operating rooms.

You want warm white, which is more yellow and natural.

Normally it does but there doesn't seem to be an E8 (that would be 8mm OD on the thread)?

You want them the same as the lights in the room, we've got daylight spots in the ceiling but halogen bulbs in the extractor, never turn them on coz it looks weird.

I'm with @Maker on this. Our hood has cool white led lights, the kitchen has warm white led down lighters, the two don't look right together.
