I’ve just bought an old Electra Beckum off eBay, my first compressor. The serial plate is as follows

On picking it up, I discovered that the pressure switch was missing, however the adjustment knob/spring assembly is still there. There was no regulator. There is a tank gauge.
It was listed as running well and it does run and hold air. It gets to 150 PSI on the tank gauge (if it’s accurate) and that’s when the tank safety valve operates.
On checking the oil after a quick run, I discovered that it was overfilled and cloudy. I’ve got some SAE 30 compressor oil to change it with.
I’ll be using it primarily for inflating tyres and with a blow gun. I may also do some spraying with it, nothing fancy. Air tools may also be a possibility if the wife increase my pocket money.
I could just run it as is, but I’d like to put on a new pressure switch and I reckon I’d also like a regulator and possibly a filter. So what would you advise and where are the best places to shop online. What brands are good value and what should be avoided. I can’t afford megabucks, but I like to get things that last more than 5 minutes.
