Happily working in a shipping company that belonged to my grandfather, my father and now me and my siblings. Grew up around ships and shipyards and pretty much everything related to shipping.
Kinda been feeling my way through from purchasing to finance to marketing (for the past 9 years already) and right now am revamping our maintenance and drydocking systems. All I knew about welding and cutting is that it involves a torch, oxygen and acetelyne tanks or a welding machine and rods.
Still trying to study how I can tell a good welding job from a not so good one and what equipment would work best for us. I'm really focused on improving the quality of our repairs.
Have 5 vessels to fix up at sea and the drydock this year and I've enjoyed learning a lot of new things especially the area of welding technologies.
Btw, to the administrators --- great site!
