Enamel badges

Bit of a left of centre query really.
A friend of mine is looking to have some enamel lapel badges made, probably around 150 off andhe has found a couple of British companies that do them. After doing a bit of digging it turns out these "companies" are just reselling Chinese made stuff. He wants something made here or even Europe but not Chinese, for lots of reasons. I don't suppose anyone here knows of a UK or even European firm that makes such things?
Quality is the primary consideration alongside not Chinese of course.

I also know someone in Stourport does those domed badges. But sadly I could not locate then when I wanted some recently...

Sorry, these are "button badges" round badges with either a picture or other type artwork on them. What he is wanting are Enamel Badges, usually brass with glass enamel infill.
@Mick Annick has given me a few leads there, my pal can call them and find out but it looks like they are made in the UK.

If you are looking for unusual businesses. Birmingham should be your first place to look. It's always been ' The City of a Thousand Trades' There are still quiet a few left.

I made some but it took me a couple of months. I doubt I could manage the quantities they want in the little spare time I have. Can help someone else replicate the process, though.

I had a load made for our wildfowling club's 50th anniversary, also got them from Black Dragon badges in Lancaster, http://www.blackdragonbadges.co.uk/about.html ,
Very reasonable on price & he was quick. Pretty sure they were made in UK.
We sold them to club members at a fiver a pop, shortly after i started getting enquiries from wildfowling club badge collectors & sold more at 20 quid a pop!
So much so we had to get more made!

Its a longtime since I had any badges made for our rally.
Maybe a search of Bike rally badges. or ask on one of the bike rally groups on FB

I have bike rally badges made every year by MBC. Turnaround is pretty quick and quality is good. I had always assumed they were UK manufactured but, looking at their website, I'm not so sure - there are mentions of delays on some products due to Chinese New Year - might be worth asking, though!

Fottorini in Birmingham specialise in this…. It’s also what Dad used to do, stamped and enamel filled stuff.

You need a die, a stamping machine, silver soldering to fix the lapel pin on the back (these come from HA Light in Birmingham), then you send them for enamelling. The timing of the enamelling and the silver soldering is critical otherwise the lapel pin will fall of in the kiln!

Just called them as I was intrigued.
The lady who deals with that side of things is actually at the dentist but she is calling me back.
Might still be no good for your mate but at least I will know for the future.

Definately made in the UK though.
