Hi everyone
I have not been welding long but managed to make a fence in my garden with good results (5mm Steel).
I have a few projects coming up and thought that i should practice my arc welding skills as I was not too happy with the finish of my last project,
(A Welding Table).
I have a Parweld XTI 160 running at 70-75 amps on 3mm steel using esab 2.5mm electrodes.
when i manage to get the speed and angle right I find that as i get to the end of the run / edge of work i have too much heat and am unsure how to finish the weld. i often end up with a hole or flat weld at the end. if I leave the rod there for a few seconds it melts the end of my work.
Any ideas how to end the weld?
Many Thanks, Mike
I've tried to upload photos but could not get it to work.
