we use them on some of the larger cnc millers in work. its more of a filter than a valve, as swarf gets into the sump quite easily, so this 'valve' stops the swarf getting into the pump. its essentially a filter, but its called a valve in the parts book

And you could weld the chain together and thus have no need for the bracing bar that holds top and bottom sprockets in correct place, as seen on the cam belt one...

i welded the chain on the oil pump thats how i got it level

you need to mount it under the bonnet of something, then ring the AA and tell them your car won't start
