Epoxy paints

Now I know epoxy primers are the mutts nuts as a primer but not so good for uv protection.
Is there such a thing as a epoxy top coat?
I've seen the epoxymastic paintbut at £31 a ltr is a little steep for my tight little pockets.
I've also seen epoxy floor paints on ebay at around the £50 mark for 5 ltrs, would this be suitable for floorpans and suspension parts?(obviously a smooth one not a gritty one)
Any suggestions.

Local paint shop to me does zinc epoxy primer £30 for 2.5 litres and a top coat uv stable for £25 for 2.5 litres I don't think any epoxy top coat is ideal on bodywork though I am using it for subframes and suspension parts

about £50 quids for 5lt off ebay. tbh i use both epoxy mastic and joutan primers and both are near identical in smell, the joutan is a little thinner (does not come with thinner and the mix is different) seems just as hard as epoxymastic mind.
neither are "uv" stable

if you want an epoxy topcoat then speak to your local paint factors. HMG make an epoxy paint, i pay £18 per lt for it and it can be mixed to almost any color. if you want any uv on it you would have to clear coat it though

I was just about to post a thread ref Epoxy so i'll jump in here if I can?

I was recommended JOT87 on the Miniforums (On the basis that it had been recommended on here) not found a local dealer for it here but its £53.99 for 5Ltrs with hardener and free postage. A local aint dealer here does HMG for about £15 for 1 Ltr paint and another £15 for 1Ltr Hardener. Anyone used / recommend HMG. 5Ltrs of JOT 87 will do a couple of cars?.

fireing down my HMG primer tomorrow (its a 3-1 mix that stuff) so will let you know.

joutamastic87 is good stuff. i would avoid using it on the exterior or a full car though its much more suited to floorpans and high rust areas, HMG or lechler/Maxmayer epoxy primer is much better for bodys (lays alot smoother and with a much more reasonable film thickness, alot closer to high build primer than a mastic epoxy which is far to thick for exterior imo! )

If you want to buy Jotamastic off the shelf you need to go to a chandlers as it is marine paint.
